I Baked Using Fruit!

I've been a part of Coupon Sense for over a year now. My sister and I decided that it was time to meet our instructor, Nina Brannock. She is THE nicest person I've ever met. The class was just us three; very quaint and personal. We talked about coupons, the recently improved website, saving money, picked up some great tips, and the list goes on. When it was time to call it a night, some Gala apples. They smelled so yummy. I don't usually bake with fruit...what do I do??

I didn't even have to search the internet for a recipe, it came to me. I clicked a Facebook feed from Our Best Bites for No Bake Reese's Peanut Butter Bars and at the bottom of that page there it sat; Apple Streusel Bars. Perfect! I did, however, substituted the almond extract for vanilla because that's what I had on hand which in turn made the icing "not white" but did not affect the flavor in my opinion. I didn't make it for show; I just didn't want the apples to go bad.

They turned out so yummy. Thanks Kate & Sara!

Adryan & The Camera

Browsing through the camera's memory card, I found some great shots from my son, Adryan. He's 8 and already shows a lot of potential.

Simon & Finnigan (The green eyes look really awesome.)

Finnigan with his eyes closed this time.

Here's a good shot of Dobby.

The genius behind these photographs.

Disgruntled?! Who's Disgruntled?!

This is a copy and paste from my Facebook. I couldn't log into anything because my account was hacked!

What a freakin' freak show. First my Gmail is hacked and the account is disabled. Do I get benefits for having a disabled account?! Probably not...bummer. Anywho, I try to activate it by giving them my phone number and they call with a verification code. The page to input the verification code is temporarily unavailable. I try to get more verification codes until it locks me out for attempting to verify the maximum amount of times; which by the way is 5. When that happened, I contacted them through their "contact us" form. They ask for my email address to send correspondence. Marty McFly...it's disabled!!! Walk away, Wendy, walk away. I did walk away but only for a few hours. So, I try to have it send a text to my mobile phone. Note that my mobile phone isn't capable of receiving texts. Heh heh. Well, it immediately goes to the page to input the verification code. However, I can't get the code. I do try other codes that were written down from earlier just for giggles. It didn't work. Grrr. Moving on, I try to log into my YouTube account to subscribe to some channels. Well, it sends me directly to the "Account Temporarily Disabled" page but this time, no option to have them call with a verification code. Text Message only. *head hits desk* Fine, the vast web feels compelled to be linked to Google. *SIGH* New direction: Get information about a garden that I want to start later this year. I decide it's worthy enough to want to blog about. I try to sign in. I get this: To access your blogs, sign in with your Google Account. The new Blogger requires a Google Account to access your blogs. It also reads in RED letters "sorry, your account has been disabled." *Whaaaaaaaaa* I'm trying to get over the fact that if the account isn't resurrected, I will lose a lot of Google Documents and Google Calendar information and needless to say, all the newsletters I'm subscribed to and there are *widely opens eyes* A LOT. *ssssssiiiiiigggggggggghhhhhhh*

I honestly don't see anyone trying to figure out what happened to my account over the weekend.

Thanks for reading, if you read this far! Thank the cyber God that Facebook isn't linked to Google Accounts. Ahh, the silver lining!

Dabble

Every now and then I dabble with the possibility of being a photographer. It's not an innate talent or desire. It's fun and uncultivated. I believe the best moments are unplanned ones and what better way to capture them than with digital photography.

I admit, I normally have to take about 20 shots to get just one good one. However, there are times that it only takes 3 shots and the best one was actually the first one I took. Here is a prime example. I was at the table with my son, supervising his still-too-immature-to-sit-and-do-homework-while-Mom-can-do-something-constructive (or relaxing!)-stage. He was working hard and I was hardly working. I grabbed the camera and started playing with it and, boom, it came to me.

So, how'd I do?!

First Posting

Okay, I don't blog so I don't know how far this will go! Please bear with me. Hopefully I can come up with some great things to blog about. I am a self-diagnosed adult with ADD. =0) As I sit here right now, I'm hoping to post things from photos I've taken to anything else that interests me hence the name Wanderings of Wendy. My mind wanders a lot! Have a great night!
